When creating my leadership presentation I had first thought about how I was going to create this project. My Topic was MLA citations and formatting. When thinking about it to myself I have never had a leadership presentation before and also have never had to explain facts about something to an entire class. When creating this presentation I had struggled to get a start because it was something new to me. The first solution I came up with was to search up what MLA was, by doing this I got a better understanding and an idea of what is needed to do in MLA citations and formatting. The information given was helpful because it gave me the idea to start with what MLA stands for. Something I could have done was to watch someone else give a leadership presentation or even just research more about how to do this type of presentation. I struggled really with explaining what MLA citations and formatting were due to the lack of knowledge I had. I realize that it wasn’t about what I knew, it was about the facts given into what MLA citations and formatting was. After giving my presentation during class I realized that I need to get better at researching and understanding the information given to me with the research. I also need to learn how to be more prepared in case there are any questions about my topic. A solution that I’ve thought of to help me better myself is to dig deeper with the information given but also think like the minds of people who are listening to me. Another solution for myself I thought about after presenting was that I should practice more of how I will be presenting also, I should have asked for some support. But, I now know how a leadership presentation goes and it has helped me grow because now the next time I need to give a leadership presentation I know what is expected. Also, this has helped me for my next project because I will be able to be better at speaking to an audience but also be more prepared.
